HOLY GRAIL ALERT: Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack Review

I have finally found a Holy Grail skin care product! What's even more awesome is it actually addresses two of my biggest beauty problems.I blame genetics for my naturally oily and acne prone skin.

Stopping acne in tracks during my mid-teens is quite a huge feat for every individual with my skin type, the oiliness has also significantly been reduced because of my skincare regimen but the huge pores are something I still have to live with.

Wanting to minimize the appearance of my pores, over the past 4 years, foundation, BB cream and Primers have become my best buddies. Since I can hardly be seen outside without any foundation, make-up greatly contributes to my black heads and clogged pores.

I have tried almost every single blackhead removing strip, pore cleansing treatment and pore minimizing medication available locally. I also have regular facials and microdermabrassion treatments, they do improve skin texture and de-clog pores but at the cost of going bankrupt. I am also currently using Retin-A for almost 2 months, but I haven't seen significant results.

Thankfully I found Skinmiso!

Skinmiso Says:

The best blackhead remover strip and pore tightening program as 3 step system.
+Not taping remover type
+No stimulus
+Sold over 5,000 pcs a day group buy in Korea
+Ranked the best selling item in Singapore No.1 commerce. (2012)

Skinmiso 3 step blackhead eraser program is the best solution for the clean nose.

Oh Skinmiso... save that for your resume. Hahaha! :)

The set includes:
1 Step Mask - 10 Sheets
2 Step Mask - 10 Sheets
15ml Pore Minimizing Essence

Skinmiso also has a pore cleaner, the Comedo Remover which is sold separately.

How to use:

Before you continue to scroll down, please take note that you are about to see mildly icky stuff. (i.e my awful skin, blackheads, bulbous nose) And if you may, please be gentle, my nose isn't the most flattering part of my face. :D

Before

Before
These 'Before' photo were taken 2 days after my initial use of Skinmiso. What you have seen is my nose on a 'good and clean' pore day.

Step 1: Apply Step 1 Mask on your nose and leave it on for 15 minutes. The mask will give you a cool refreshing sensation that can elevate to a slightly itchy feel if you leave it on for too long. It will open up your pores to make the impurities come out easily.

Remember to give some allowance for the tip if your nose and fold the two little flaps over each other to secure the mask in place.

Step 2: Take off your Step 1 Mask and gently squeeze out the blackhead, whiteheads or other impurities clogging your pores. Be firm yet gentle at the same time, do the probing in quick firm motions and avoid dragging/scraping. (One aesthetician left me a long scratch on the other corner of my nose after a facial.)

Step 3: Take the Step 2 Mask and put it on your nose as you did with the first mask. This mask will shrink back the pore back to its original size. Leave this on for 15 minutes before taking it off.

Step 4: Rub in the remaining mask essence and once it has completely dried, rub on a teeny tiny bit of the Silky Essence all over your nose. Trust me, a little goes a long way.

Step 5: Marvel at the beauty and wonder of Skinmiso!

After a miracle!

After
See the improvement? You can still actually see the clogged pores around the area that hasn't been cleansed.

My take on this product . . .

I had very little expectations of this product since I have already tried a similar version from The Face Shop.

(Please don't castrate me for not posting earlier product reviews on queue. I have been really busy with freelance work :( I swear! )

I am impressed beyond words because I basically flipped a coin in purchasing this product. The online reviews are very few and far between, and Skinmiso is a product that I haven't heard of.

There's nothing much to say as I have already indicated it as a HG product. It works very well at a reasonable cost. Love it to bits. :)

Would I recommend it?

Most certainly. This should be a staple for everyone who is suffering from blackheads.

Would I re-purchase?

Definitely.

Cost per use:

The Skinmiso Comedo Remover retails online at $14.99 (approx. 599php)

The Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack Set retails online for $21.99 (approx. 879php)

You can use this on your nose are for 10 times given that there are 10 packets of each set included.

878 (price) / 10 (times used)

= 87.96php!

Far more cheaper than your regular 400-500php regular facial.

Where can I purchase this?

Skinmiso can be purchased online at www.wishtrend.com.

I purchased mine from a local seller who sold it on-sale at 1000php for the entire set. Leave me a comment if you would like to get in touch. :)

*TIPS*

This may not work for everyone but I have used this on the upper bridge of my nose, between my brows and under my lip. It works just as well. :)

5/5

Have a marvelous mid-week,

Tony Moly: TomatoX Magic White Massage Pack Review

It has arrived! This is Tony Moly's debut on my blog. Though Tony Moly has been in the Philippines for quite some time now, it never really caught my eye but given the chance I would like to try their egg-based products. Now on to the review:

The product says:

"Containing Tomato extracted water and Tomato ingredients, this multi-functional massage & pack bring dual magic brightening & vitalizing & detoxifying effect into the skin."

Tomatox comes in a tomato shaped container placed in a plastic box with an illustration of its usage and instructions - with the list of ingredients - written in Korean, Chinese, Japanese and English! Huge plus for me knowing that they do care about their foreign consumers.

The product is massaged onto the (cleansed) face for 1-2 minutes and left on as a mask, and then rinsed after 5-10 minutes.

It is of a white, thick and creamy consistency and smells very sweet. It also has a mini spatula for hygienic purposes.

My take on this product . . .
I love how well made the packaging is and the attention to detail. The scent is not offensive in any way and the mini spatula was a sweet TLC touch. There is also an immediate skin brightening/lightening effect, my face looked 1-2 shades lighter after I washed off the mask. Unfortunately, this effect is temporary.

I also experienced some slight stinging within the first 2 minutes of application. Very minimal and tolerable. I really don't mind heat and stinging because I do love self-heating masks

I was using this product for a week until I noticed tiny red pustules appearing all over my face! Pretty much like tiny pimples but they never grew, and disapeared within a few days. I tried it again on another instance and the same thing happened again. :(

Would I recommend it?
No, but once again, what doesn't work for me, might work for you.  I might have loved this product if it didn't break me out.
Would I re-purchase?
No

Price:
This item is sold at Tony Moly stores and is available locally. It is sold online at around 720PHP ($18USD)

An Unexpected Haul: Haul #2 - #4

For the past 2 years, I've had this habit of buying a lot of skincare products whenever I buy makeup. I could go out to buy masks and serums without having to purchase makeup, but never the other way around.

Majolica Majorca

Etude House

My first Etude House Purchase. Why? The nearest store from home is 2 hours away. :P

The Face Shop

I am a regular makeup user which is why I do not take skincare lightly. Makeup at some point, will take a toll on your skin if you do not take proper skincare treatments. I currently have a 6-7 step skincare regimen before I go to bed at night, some people even have 20!But this doesn't necessarily mean you have to slather as much product on your skin, you just have to remember the holy trinity of skincare: CLEANSE, TONE/EXFOLIATE and MOISTURIZE.

Do wait for the upcoming product reviews. :3

Much love,

Holika Holika White Egg Soap Review

A thousand raves can’t all be wrong right? So I got the Holika Holika Egg Soap online for only 480php! Which is a tad cheaper than its original price of $15, given the current exchange rate today is approximately 630php. Truth be told, it’s the first time I’ve heard of Holika Holika and I shamefully admit that it was the cute ingenious packaging that sold me (yes, more than the reviews c: ) I also have a huge faith in Korean skincare products and all egg-based and honey-based products thus the purchase. Holika Holika is owned by Enprani, a high end skincare brand in Korea, as to date Holika Holika hasn’t branched out in the Philippines yet, though I'm praying we get to see a store open locally, just like Majolica Majorca *cheers*

Egg Carton FTW :3

It claims...

It tightens pores and make your skin sleek.
A solid soap, which foams easily, and can replace your cleanser.
After 4 weeks, it should help to reduce your blackheads.*

*from this site

My sweet eggies! :)

Each egg weighs 50g, but my eggs are disproportionately sized. One egg seems to be smaller or perchance the other one is bigger? O_o

For size comparison purposes, here's a REAL egg next to a soap egg...

Egg1: Hi, you must be new around here? ^_<
Egg2: *blush* *giggles*

The soap isn't all that puny as it looks, its about the size of a real fertilized chicken egg, not like the humongous poultry-farm-store-bought egg in the picture.

How to use:

The egg soap work as a cleanser so all you'd have to do is wet your hands and rub the soap between your hands until foamy then massage gently on your face.

Oh, what the heft :3

or rub the soap against your wet face. I find it easier this way as the soap slips too often. You can also use Holika Holika's White Egg Soap as a mask, do as instructed above and massage your face until the foam turns into a fine creamy lather, then rinse off.

My take on this product...

Heaven Sent! Results are almost instant. A week into using this product and my nose is clear and smooth to touch. There are still blackheads of course but they are much less visible now.

Would I recommend it?

Yes, to everyone who is troubled day and night by blackheads and whiteheads, do try this product! :)

Would I repurchase?

Yes. Absolutely.

Overall Rating:

4.5/5

This is a really good product at a reasonable price. The soap doesn't melt easily as long you store it properly, one of my egg soaps seem to have melted a great deal because of heat, so remember to keep it in a COOL, DRY place.

The only con here is that its not locally available at the moment. You can find local online sellers but please do take caution. If you'd like to contact my seller please leave me a comment/message. :)

Have a great week ahead,

Skin Food Egg White Pack

The packaging says...

*Containing egg white that is excellent in exfoliating, refining pores and controlling excess oil, this peel-off pack effectively eliminates annoying blackheads on the nose, forehead and chin. This sheet-type pack is easy to use and carry, promoting quick and convenient care for blackheads when used once or twice weekly.

The pack costs 510php in Skinfood outlets, it contains 5 nose pore strips and 5 pore strips for the forehead and chin (jaw) area.

Peel-off Pack for Nose

Peel-off Pack for Forehead - Jaw

How to use:

Simply wet face and with dry hands apply the designated sheet...

Nose Pinch!

On your nose....

Hmmmmm...

chin...

gawd... I look sleepy XD

...and forehead. Allow the sheets to dry for 10-15 minutes then peel-off. :)

Two words for this product; Love it. By far it’s the best blackhead removal strip I’ve tried. The nose strips are fantastic, it removes all blackheads in one go (except deep seated impurities you have to probe out) very efficient, dries quickly and doesn't sting as bad as other pore strips. The forehead and chin (jaw) strips are a bit hard to work with, the forehead strip only pulls up tiny facial hairs and the chin strip hardly removes anything at all.

Would I recommend it?

Yes, especially for those who, like me, sweat profusely around the nose area. It can really get messy and less efficient to use pore masks as the sweat tends to wash away/cut through the product before it even dries up.

Would I repurchase?

Definitely! :)

Overall Rating:

4/5

Overall, this is a really good product, but I find it to be a bit too pricey for me since I really don't like (and use) the forehead and chin packs.  :P
