Majolica Majorca: Brow and Lash Colorist BR333 Review

The Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist comes in 2 shades, BR333 (Vanilla Brown) and BR555 (Maroon Brown). It contains 4.5g of product and has a beautifully tapered wand for easier and precise application.

To apply, brush the brows in an upward motion until you have covered the entire brow, then proceed to swipe the brush across the brow to keep the hair in place.

Bare Brows
With MM Brow and Lash Colorist in BR333

Soft and Subtle

I purchased this item the moment Majolica Majorca's Psychedelicious Collection came out in the market, along with Lash King in Brown. Unlike the latter product's black counterpart, it wasn't love at first swipe. The color just didn't seem right and it stood out in a rather odd manner, yet after having it shelved for almost 2 months, I decided to give it another try...

My take on this product . . .
I am glad that I put off doing a review on this and gave it another try when I started 'threading' instead of having my brows shaved. Since my brows looked more defined, the product did it's magic. The color was more soft and subtle and though it did set my brows, it still looked soft and natural. Brow shape truly makes a difference.

Would I recommend it?
Definitely!

Would I re-purchase?
Yes.

Cost per Use:
The Majolica Majorca Brow and Lash Colorist retails at the price of 595php (14USD)
I would suggest that you treat this like a tube of mascara (especially if you also use it on your lashes) Use it up to 4 months at the most.

595 price / (30 days in a month x 4 number of months) = 4.95php (.10USD) per use.

Overall Rating:
4/5

Have a madly marvelous mid-week,

Back and Black

I felt like a huge boulder was pushed towards my back during the semestral break. The move, the schedule adjustments and trying to cook REAL MEALS was stressful. I felt like a sloth the entire time and I didn't get to go someplace new, but I did get/do a lot of super-awesome stuff :) (Pic heavy post)

Sony Bloggie Touch - Gifted by Granny

The Sony Bloggie Touch MHS-TS10 was released September of 2010. Two years may not be a long time but for electronic gadgets, that could easily be half a decade, and for electronic handhelds, over a decade. An ordinary cellular phone with a camera and capable of wifi connection would trump this guy any day. Luckily, this baby has a new found purpose with me as I'll be using it as a voice recorder.

Toshiba Lappy! - Gifted by Grampa

I love getting new stuff, though I badly needed a laptop replacement, changing laptops/PC's hasn't been a very enjoyable experience for me. Something always gets lost into the void when I transfer files. Very very frustrating. I love Thaddy (Thaddeus - my lappy) nevertheless. :)

New Squiggly Lines Pink Backdrop

NEW BACKDROP!!! One thing I was very excited about during the 'move' was getting a new backdrop. Its just so pretty and immaculate don't you think? :)

Journals

I'm a sucker for hardbound journals and sleek and smooth writing paper but I'm not that crazy enough to buy Moleskin's for myself. It would feel like murder if I dare write anything on a Moleskin that isn't worth gold. :P

Guess what I'm cookin'?

I'm actually trying to make 'people' food. Yay.

If I were an instagram junkie, you'd be seeing loads of these. :))

Revlon CustomEyes 020

Bought on a whim because I badly needed taupe's and browns. Nails are painted in Cupcake from Orly.

Lacoste Touch of Pink

Not a huge fan of the scent but everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY I run into seems to love it. :3

Givenchy - Dahlia Noir - Gifted by Auntie

 Back to Black

And I finally had my hair dyed black again. I was hesitant to have it doused in chemicals since my perming and bleaching incident but I just abhor the uneven light brown ombre look. I also had eyelash extensions done, now sporting super luscious lashes at anytime of the day! (My grandmother still thinks they're false lashes, she saw me gently trying to de-clump them after I wash my face at 11pm and asked "Why haven't you taken those off yet?")

The Blog will be undergoing a huge renovation/redesigning this December. So if you have any Kick-ass suggestions, please let me know.

And finally... I WILL BE HAVING MY FIRST GIVEAWAY! (Hint: Last Pic) So please stay tuned for updates. :)

Have a happy weekend,

Broken Lipstick? Save those bullets!

There comes a time when some of our dear lipstick fail us, whether they break during mid-application or melt due to hellish weather conditions, just save those bullets and give your lippie a new home.

I came upon these lipstick savers at a Japanese Home Center store, the set costs only 88. And yes, they truly are lipsticks savers!

The box has a step-by-step procedure on how to transfer your lipstick into the pot.

Step 1: Simply place the bullet in the pan and scoop out the remaining product from the lipstick barrel. I used a chopstick in this photo. Mash up the product in the pan.

Step 2: Now place the pan inside the microwave and set the timer to 1 minute. Watch the pan closely to see how fast the lipstick melts. Once you see it all liquefied, stop the microwave and bring the pan out.

*A word of caution, not all lipticks have the same consistency. The NYX lipstick I used in the photo was mushy to begin with, it took only 30 seconds for it to completely melt, others take longer. If there are still solid fragments after 1 minutes, take out the pan and stir, try to mash the the solid fragments, let it cool for a while, then pop it back in the microwave for 1 minute. Though the pan was designed to be used in the microwave, please be cautious as the material is still made of plastic.

Step 3: Once the lipstick has completely melted, stir the contents of the pan to get rid of bubbles.

Step 4: Let the lipstick cool and set for 5-10 minutes.

Now your lippie is ready for some action! You may also stick on the lipstick label on the bottom of the pan, so you won't forget the brand and shade. Use a lipbrush to apply your de-potted lipsticks. If you intend to bring this in your purse you may use a retractable lip brush for no-mess storage.

Have an awesome weekend,

Looking for: Reliable Internet Service Provider

It's been two weeks since I moved back into my old home and I feel deprived of one of the basic necessities of modern man; internet connection. I have filed an application at a PLDT center and  I am very displeased with their customer service. It is highly unnerving when people shrug off my concerns on the basis that I am still a student. The women I initially spoke to was talking in a condescending manner and was very annoyed as I asked about their promo packages and fees, the other customer service agent I spoke to on the following day was pretty much the same, but far more . . . pissy. She left me at the desk for 10 minutes without having herself excused, she called another person to the table while she rushed me fill in some details that I have missed on the form, and when I gave her the forms, she proceeded on speaking to another client. It was after their conversation when she told me that I did not need to pay that very moment (which I was actually waiting for) and they will call within 2-3 weeks.

PHEW! Apologies for the rant.

On any normal day, I would not tolerate such godawful service, but unfortunately I need internet access real bad. I guess those PLDT staff know that ordeal that's why they get away with it.

I will look for more internet service providers that cater to our area, but even so, it looks like I'll be disconnected from the web for a month or so. :(

On a lighter and happier note...

My work desk/dressing room is partially done! No major renovations, no wallpapers. Just a desk and drawers. My new item backdrop/background is also set and it is bigger, though it is still pink :P

Unfortunately, it will still be quite a while till I'll get to use it because as of today, I have 34 pending product reviews! Hopefully, being net-less for a couple more weeks will get me working on them as I have less distractions. :D

Cheer up and chin up,

If These Walls Could Talk! Experience and on Moving Out

Source: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/%27beware-the-kraken%27-queue

I have been planning to go on a tour with Mr. Carlos Celdran a couple of years back, but never had the opportunity to do so. I recall seeing his rates were rather pricier and most of his scheduled tours were full around the time he did the "DAMASO" stint in the Manila Cathedral. I never went back to his site to check for updates and merely subscribed to his page on facebook.

Last Saturday evening, I was fortunate enough to see one of his posts announcing a barter tour on the following day. A barter tour is a "free" tour wherein all you'd have to pay for are the museum, entrance, kalesa and other miscellaneous fees. You would also need to bring a gift to barter with, may it be food, canned beans, artwork... ANYTHING! Since he rarely does this on a weekend, I simply HAD to go!

The trip from Pampanga to Intramuros was... harsh. I did research and asked friends how to get to Intamuros from Cubao so on and so forth, and before I went to bed, I had 5 routes listed down on how to get there. Travel time was about 3-4 hours. Really frustrating.

So how did I get there? Here: 3 Jeepney Rides to Bus Station >Bus to Cubao > MRT to Taft > LRT1 to Central > Clueless Pedicab Driver (or acting stupid to defraud me of my little cash)

Disclaimer: I am absolutely in no way belittling pedicab drivers. Its just a shocker that he was absolutely clueless regarding the whereabouts of Fort Santiago when it's barely 2 kilometers away. A little known trait about "most" Kapampangans as well is the grander we look, the poorer we really are. :D

Carlos preparing for his first act

Taking pictures throughout the tour is allowed (except inside the museum) but capturing videos isn't. There was one lady recording the entire thing but no one seemed to mind, it's as long as it's for personal viewing only I suppose :)
I was such a dummy for not bringing a spare memory card on the trip that's why all of the photos here are basically 90% of what I took. I was able to take short video clips as well. :)

Me with Mr. Celdran at the end of the tour

The rates for the "If these walls could talk!" Tour are:
1000php - Adult
600php - Student (Bring a school I.D.)
400php - Barter Tour

For updated schedules and prices visit http://www.carlosceldran.com

I would love to share more about the tour experience but I'd rather not spoil the fun for everyone who intends to go to one of his tours. Let me just end this part of the entry by saying, If I had known it would be this cheap, I wouldn't have waited for a barter tour!

Drawbacks of being alone. Self-Pics :))

On another note....

I'M MOVING BACK TO MY OLD HOUSE! :D

Other than having the extended family around you, I reaaaaally dislike the apartment were staying in. The structure isn't so bad but I hate RATS! I can deal with them nibbling on unattended food items but not clothes and dry goods.

New Dressing Room/Study/Studio!

I'll be moving in on Friday. Stuff to be transported are not yet packed and the place I'm moving in is still a bit messy! Got to keep moving!!!! :D

Have a fruitful week ahead,
DianeShishio
