Thoughts on Virtual Ink #1 : Mellowing as you age

A couple of days ago I was tearing apart my room looking a cable then I found this...

It's a cheap set of sticky note memo pads, come to think of it, it isn't all that cheap because I hardly used it due to its poor adhesive. Tsk tsk... but look what I found scribbled inside...

I must have written this around 2 years ago. Alarming I must say, as I got older I've learned to tolerate a lot of stuff I couldn't when I was young, I learned to keep my tongue from delivering verbal lashings, cussing too much, being too frank and airing out my sentiments in the most intimidating way I can. I've also grown to embrace change and diversity. It was hard. REALLY HARD. I still can't believe how level-headed I am now compared to the old me. Taking studies a bit more seriously, becoming more sociable, engaging in social events just to get a along with the crowd... yadda yadda yadda

Not that there's something wrong with it, I do admit that I like myself better now.

But I still miss that DianeShishio who wouldn't take shit from anyone, it had to be her way or no way, the girl who wouldn't swallow the bullet. Yes... that girl who wouldn't sell herself short no matter the consequences, she knew, oh yes, she knew she deserved nothing but the best.

And so do you. Don't settle for less, you deserve the best.

Salutes you for being so damn fine,
DianeShishio

Holika Holika White Egg Soap Review

A thousand raves can’t all be wrong right? So I got the Holika Holika Egg Soap online for only 480php! Which is a tad cheaper than its original price of $15, given the current exchange rate today is approximately 630php. Truth be told, it’s the first time I’ve heard of Holika Holika and I shamefully admit that it was the cute ingenious packaging that sold me (yes, more than the reviews c: ) I also have a huge faith in Korean skincare products and all egg-based and honey-based products thus the purchase. Holika Holika is owned by Enprani, a high end skincare brand in Korea, as to date Holika Holika hasn’t branched out in the Philippines yet, though I'm praying we get to see a store open locally, just like Majolica Majorca *cheers*

Egg Carton FTW :3

It claims...

It tightens pores and make your skin sleek.
A solid soap, which foams easily, and can replace your cleanser.
After 4 weeks, it should help to reduce your blackheads.*

*from this site

My sweet eggies! :)

Each egg weighs 50g, but my eggs are disproportionately sized. One egg seems to be smaller or perchance the other one is bigger? O_o

For size comparison purposes, here's a REAL egg next to a soap egg...

Egg1: Hi, you must be new around here? ^_<
Egg2: *blush* *giggles*

The soap isn't all that puny as it looks, its about the size of a real fertilized chicken egg, not like the humongous poultry-farm-store-bought egg in the picture.

How to use:

The egg soap work as a cleanser so all you'd have to do is wet your hands and rub the soap between your hands until foamy then massage gently on your face.

Oh, what the heft :3

or rub the soap against your wet face. I find it easier this way as the soap slips too often. You can also use Holika Holika's White Egg Soap as a mask, do as instructed above and massage your face until the foam turns into a fine creamy lather, then rinse off.

My take on this product...

Heaven Sent! Results are almost instant. A week into using this product and my nose is clear and smooth to touch. There are still blackheads of course but they are much less visible now.

Would I recommend it?

Yes, to everyone who is troubled day and night by blackheads and whiteheads, do try this product! :)

Would I repurchase?

Yes. Absolutely.

Overall Rating:

4.5/5

This is a really good product at a reasonable price. The soap doesn't melt easily as long you store it properly, one of my egg soaps seem to have melted a great deal because of heat, so remember to keep it in a COOL, DRY place.

The only con here is that its not locally available at the moment. You can find local online sellers but please do take caution. If you'd like to contact my seller please leave me a comment/message. :)

Have a great week ahead,

Skin Food Egg White Pack

The packaging says...

*Containing egg white that is excellent in exfoliating, refining pores and controlling excess oil, this peel-off pack effectively eliminates annoying blackheads on the nose, forehead and chin. This sheet-type pack is easy to use and carry, promoting quick and convenient care for blackheads when used once or twice weekly.

The pack costs 510php in Skinfood outlets, it contains 5 nose pore strips and 5 pore strips for the forehead and chin (jaw) area.

Peel-off Pack for Nose

Peel-off Pack for Forehead - Jaw

How to use:

Simply wet face and with dry hands apply the designated sheet...

Nose Pinch!

On your nose....

Hmmmmm...

chin...

gawd... I look sleepy XD

...and forehead. Allow the sheets to dry for 10-15 minutes then peel-off. :)

Two words for this product; Love it. By far it’s the best blackhead removal strip I’ve tried. The nose strips are fantastic, it removes all blackheads in one go (except deep seated impurities you have to probe out) very efficient, dries quickly and doesn't sting as bad as other pore strips. The forehead and chin (jaw) strips are a bit hard to work with, the forehead strip only pulls up tiny facial hairs and the chin strip hardly removes anything at all.

Would I recommend it?

Yes, especially for those who, like me, sweat profusely around the nose area. It can really get messy and less efficient to use pore masks as the sweat tends to wash away/cut through the product before it even dries up.

Would I repurchase?

Definitely! :)

Overall Rating:

4/5

Overall, this is a really good product, but I find it to be a bit too pricey for me since I really don't like (and use) the forehead and chin packs.  :P

The Thumb Thing

I've seen a picture of the Thumb thing from an Epic Win website a couple of years back and for someone like me who reads almost everywhere and any situation possible, it was  a pretty cool idea. The Thumb Thing keeps the book 'open' while you hold it open using one hand. It's very convenient for commuters, you can even get your literary fix in a crammed MRT/LRT without straining yourself. Little did I know that it really did exist and was already out in the market.

Lurvely! My thumb size is Small :3

Just slip it on your thumb...

And TADA!

Read away.

I love you dearest thumb thingy of mine...

But wait, there's more... the Thumb Thing also prevents spine creasing! Your pocketbooks won't split into two anymore and now you only have 'dog ears' to worry about.

I bought mine at Powerbooks, Marquee Mall for only 150php.I believe all Powerbooks branches have the Thumb thing.  It comes in 4 sizes (S, M, L, XL) and a variety of colors. Bibliomaniacs, get one now! :)

An Implied Contract

When life gives you lemons, it is imperative for one to make the most out of it and make lemonade. Even though it is unfortunate that a huge lot tend to leave the citrus fruit to wither and atrophy, there is a handful of mankind who aim for perfection, mincing lemon rinds and whisking away the concoction every few hours or so to make lemon sorbet.

Truth be told, my culinary skills can be summed up in two words; instant and microwavable. In blog terms that must probably mean micro-blogging. Bleech!

So here's the deal...I'll post regularly about anything, everything and nothing. I promise no half-baked half-assed entries (you are entitled to give me a good beating once I do so) I won't cuss too much. No lengthy personal rants. I'll blog. You read and give constructive criticism. In the occasion of heated arguments, let us all be reminded of that 'R' word that could possibly end all of the world's disputes. Respect. Thank you.

Let's start. :)

P.S. Since I promised no half-baked posts, no cussing, no lengthy personal rants on this blog. Entries under the aforementioned categories have their own repository. Please do visit The Asylum. Thank you.
