The Face Shop: Angel Skin Foundation and Angel Skin Make-up Base Review

I must admit that this is a post looooong overdue. I've moved out from the flat where I originally took these photos and I am moving out again! Hahaha. The good side of it is that I have used the products for approximately 6 months, more than enough to give you a detailed review.

The Angel Skin Make-up Base comes in a green 30ml tube with a screw cap

The Angel Skin Foundation also comes in the same packaging but in pink.

The primer has a watery consistency with a green hue which helps tone down redness as a green concealer would. Used by itself, it will leave your face looking white and pale.

The foundation also has the same watery consistency with bit of a yellow undertone. Perfect for most asian women. The shade I got is NB21.

Here's a photo of myself wearing both products, un-retouched for 5 hours.

You can see a bit of oiliness coming through (and sweat) but so far it's holding up pretty well 5 hours after application.

My take on these Products . . .

They're cheap and work quite well. It can get heavy and cakey so remember apply just a suitable amount for your entire face. I have no issues with the color since it blends pretty well with my skintone and I didn't experience any breakouts with either of the products. The only part that troubled me is the packaging, it's messy and very inconvenient, you also tend to get more product than you need because of its runny consistency.

Would I recommend it?

Primer: I'm not a huge fan of concealers, it's something I don't use unless I have to cover up a huge blemish. I would recommend this for people who have cover up any redness on their face.

Foundation: Yes, this is great for people with yellow undertones. Not a Holy Grail material but worth the try.

Cost Per Use:

I believe I purchased both on sale at the price of 425PHP each (Approx. $11USD)

My tubes lasted 6 months with at least 4 times a week of usage.

12(times used in a month) x 6 (number of months) = 72 Applications.

425PHP / 72 Applications =  5.90PHP per use.

Lioele: Dollish Lipstick in Madonna Red Review

Bloody hell! It has been two weeks! I was so busy writing Christmas-themed articles for the sites I work for and by the time I was able to get some air, Christmas had already gone by. I'm pretty much indifferent during the holidays, for 5 consecutive years my Christmases have been awfully dry. This year was pretty much the same. Meh. Moving on . . .

Lioele says:

The Lioele Dollish Lipstick is an elegant and feminine lipstick that does not only look great but also contains moisturizing ingredients that can retain moisture in lips and prevent lips from chapping long-lasting texture, so you don't have to continually reapply it. What's even better? These lipsticks are super pigmented so that you won't have to apply multiple layers. The casing is a matte black that looks luxurious no matter where you store it!

I purchased the color Madonna Red 10. This product retails at around 580PHP ($14.5) and can be bought at Lioele boutiques in the PH.

This is a single swipe swatch of the lipstick. It is rich, creamy and highly pigmented

My take on this product . . .
This lipstick is highly pigmented, creamy, easy to apply and long-lasting. It has a very luxurious shine to it, you wouldn't be needing lipgloss. A good lip liner is a must because it does smudge around the edges of your lips. I have a little issue with its 'crayon-like' scent as it can be overwhelming at times.

Would I recommend it?

Yes. It looks gorgeous on my lips! Will definitely try more Dollish Lipsticks.

Would I re-purchase?

Maybe. I indubitably love this product, but as of the moment, I would like to try out different brands and shades in matte.

3/5

Majolica Majorca: Skin Lingerie Pore Refiner

I'll start off by describing my skin type, I have oily skin with ginormous pores, fair complexion with average to little skin complications (i.e. acne)

I could never achieve an all day flawless finish -  even with re-touches - before I started using primers. Today, it is a makeup staple which I use no matter how natural or heavy is my makeup.

The Skin Lingerie Pore Refiner comes in one size, a 25g tube with a pretty nifty opening which regulates the amount of product very well. Available locally at select Watson's stores at a retail price of ₱695.

VOILA!
If you're wondering where the blemish on the before pics went, this was shot on a different day. :D

Taken 5 hours after application with no touch-ups, using a Canon 1100D with flash. You can still see some of my pores up-close, but otherwise the finish is just amazing.

My take on this product . . .
Amazing. Anything that makes my skin flawless is a winner in my book. It has good staying power, covers up pores and a little goes a long way. It is also spf 20+ which can be good for outdoor use, but not so much when used for flash photography. It also causes some 'graycasting' which can easily be covered up by foundation.

Would I recommend it?
Yes.

Would I re-purchase?
YES! This is definitely a staple!

Cost per Use:

I use this (almost) on a daily basis, 1 tube lasted for a little over 3 MONTHS!

695 (price) / 90 (days in 3 months)

= 7.72 per use!

Great quality at such an affordable price. Totally worth it! :D

5/5

Majolica Majorca: Lash King Mascara Review

Words aren't enough to describe how overjoyed I was when Majolica Majorca hit our shores about a year ago. It's just so exciting when foreign brands appear in the market, online shopping can either be so frivolous, hassling and pricey. As a student, I can't afford much beyond drugstore make-up. :P

Purty purty packaging :D

The catalog booklet that showcases this collection claims:

"An astonishing event stirs the lash world. A first in Majolica Majorca history, 5mm fibers that truly blend in with lashes. The trusted Acrobat Catch Brush coats every single lash evenly. Limitless length. Unbeatable thickness. Lush fullness. Lashes are so perfectly satisfied.. they finally deserve the throne. That aura and that beauty... it is yours. You are the king of all kings."

Let's try this baby out...

Fibers

It has a traditional mascara wand which can be quite a pain to those who have been pampered by rubber wands and comb-like wands.

Before:

After:

My take on this product . . .
I have a love-hate relationship with Fiber Mascaras, but this one is simply awesome. It adds a dramatic amount of volume and length. It is also very easy to remove.

Would I recommend it?
Yes. Just a word of caution for those with sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers as there may be minimal fallouts throughout the day.

Would I repurchase?
Absolutely... I like long lasting makeup that can be easily removed.

Overall Rating:
4.5/5

For a price tag of 795php, it is worth it. Lash King gives noticeably thicker and longer lashes without giving you raccoon eyes.

Have a great week ahead,
